Meet our Cartoonist James Grasdal! A compulsive doodler, which has led naturally to an ink-stained life of cartooning!

Beginning his career as an editorial cartoonist and illustrator, his work has appeared in newspapers and magazines across North America. James has designed and illustrated close to 20 books, including The Chase Duffy Series.

When he isn’t drawing in his studio, James can be found teaching kids of all ages how to draw and write their own cartoons and comics at the Downtown Farmers Market!

Register your kids now for a 2 hour drop-in Comics & Cartoon Workshop for only $30! Each class is filled with loads of drawing, writing and cartooning that help students create their own characters and storylines. Join us on the 2nd floor by the Food Court in our new classroom!

Meet our very own face painter and artist Dani! When Dani isn’t in her studio working on her own portfolio of pet portraits you can find her on the weekends at the Downtowns Farmers Market painting on the best canvas ever – Skin!

Come to the Market and get fun and funky while shopping by getting your face painted! (Available for all ages)

Lee Conrad is an #yegartist who specializes in drawing speedy portraits and cartoons!

Located by the staircase on the main floor, Lee can be found drawing away every weekend at the Downtown Market. Choose your desired size, if you want color, and within 5-10 minutes you will have a brand-new original art piece!

Located on the main floor by the bathrooms, take a break from shopping and pick a book for this weeks read. We also accept book donations, so feel free to bring in your gently used, and new books to drop at our library!
